DECHEMA Annual Meeting: Comminution and Classification 2026 at Hattingen

Members of the Particle Processing Group (PPG) actively participated in the DECHEMA Annual Meeting of the Specialist Group Comminution and Classification, held in Hattingen, Germany, from 24–25 February 2026.
The event brought together experts from both industry and academia, providing a valuable platform for knowledge exchange through poster and oral presentations. Participants shared their latest research findings and engaged in meaningful discussions on current challenges and future developments in the field.


Two members of the PPG group at IPT, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, contributed to the conference. Rajashree Swain, Research Assistant, presented a poster titled “Investigations on the Breakage Behavior of Legumes.” In addition, PPG group leader Jochen Schmidt delivered a presentation on “Wet Grinding of Polymers in Stirred Media Mills.
The meeting offered excellent networking opportunities, fostering discussions with potential collaborators from various institutions and industries. These interactions are expected to support future research collaborations and joint projects. The event concluded with an industrial tour of Maschinenfabrik Köppern, where participants gained valuable insights into manufacturing processes, key operational steps, and industrial-scale equipment.
